The Birds That Bite

The Canberra was the second ship in the U.S. Navy to carry an anti-aircraft missile battery.  The Terriers gave the ship a capability to reach out to an enemy aircraft far beyond the range of our guns.

Modern warships carry a variety of missiles that can attack air, surface, and sub-surface targets.  Here are a few that we have seen.

ASROC (Anti Submarine ROCket) is another way for destroyers to protect the fleet from submarines.  (FG)
